Who Are You?

It’s time to remember who you are.

Not who you used to be. Not who you’ve been. Not who someone else wants you be. Not who you wish to become. It’s time to remember who you are, as this is what is available to you now; in this present moment. Who you are is the foundation by which everything else in your life is built upon.

This is a time of dismantling the preconceived notion‘s and ideas that you may have had about yourself. As well as thoughts or beliefs that others labeled you to be; which caused you to embrace them as your truth.

For example, hearing repeated statements such as “You’re so serious.” can lead one to feel uncomfortable with being playful or funny. Or “You’re not very good at that.” Can lead one to believe that they could never excel in that subject. These examples illustrate the way self-limiting thought patterns can alter our perception of who we really are, thus making it difficult to be anything outside of that. The person refered to as being too serious was in reality just a highly focused observer who wanted to be fun and spontaneous, but being anything outside of serious began to make them feel like they would be being someone they weren’t or not whom others expected them to be. This pattern this distorts the image of who you really are.

Remembering who you are starts with taking a moment to listen to yourself and your intuition before reacting. Your true self will always respond, but it is often bypassed by the automatic response of our learned patterns of thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, or fears we have about ourselves. You maybe surprised by how different your response maybe just by listening. You may also want to ask yourself, ‘Is this who I really am or is this how I feel I am expected to be or react?’

Remember who you are by getting to know the real you that been hidden behind the veil perception. This can be uncomfortable at times as the person you really are may not be the person others will recognize to be you, but remember to allow the uncomfortableness of change be your sign of growth. It can be a slow process, but your growth is very rewarding.

With love to you all!
